KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO) -- It was just a horrible freakish series of events that killed two and has taken investigators and prosecutors months to sort out. Now the two drivers involved in the double crash on a notorious curve on the U.S. 131 Business Loop will face charges.
Two Emergency Medical Technicians, 22-year-old Brittany Despins and 23-year-old Trevor Stuck died because of the wrecks. They were on their way home with friends and co-workers from an evening in Grand Rapids when prosecutors say driver 25-year-old Kari Braley, had a blood alcohol count that was just over the legal limit, lost control on the sharp curve on the business loop and went into the median, rolling the car.
