KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO) -- It will be a busy Tuesday this week. Kalamazoo City Commissioners plan to meet most of the afternoon in closed session to review applications for the city manager’s position, at least those applicants who have requested that their applications be kept private.
As the Portage School Board has just recently found out, such reviews are highly regulated, and can cause questions, depending how you interpret the Open Meetings act.
Also Tuesday, voters in Kalamazoo will go to the polls to renew the metro transit millage, and to approve a bond issue for school maintenance and improvement projects in the Kalamazoo School District.
Neither has generated any opposition, and both have always been approved by wide margins in the past
