BATTLE CREEK (WKZO) --  A violent high speed crash in Bedford Township Saturday near Battle Creek has left two young adults dead and two barely clinging to life at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo this morning.

Police say it appears that 22-year-old Cynthia Eckhart of Battle Creek was behind the wheel when their car went out of control at high speed on a bend on Meachum Road, struck a tree and rolled over, and then struck a second tree.   It happened at about 6:30 Saturday morning.

23-year-old Alex Hansen of Gull Lake was ejected from the wreck and also pronounced dead at the scene. Two others were Airlifted to Kalamazoo in critical condition.

23-year-old Justin Green of Battle Creek is reportedly on life support with severe head injuries and 19-year-old Jessie Finch of Hastings also suffered head injuries and apparently lost an arm.

The investigation is underway.
