COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - In Branch County High School sports yesterday, in track, the Coldwater boys team finished in 13th place while the girls team placed ninth in the SMAC League meet at Kalamazoo Loy Norrix. Battle Creek Lakeview swept to victory, winning the boys and girls team titles over 15 other schools.

Also in track, the Quincy girl’s team won the Constantine Invitational, outpointing nine other schools while the boy’s team took fifth place. Breanna Spalding was a triple winner for Quincy girls in the high jump, pole vault, and 300 meter low hurdles.

And yesterday in boy’s golf, Coldwater came in 11th place out of 16 teams in the Lakeview Invitational at Cedar Creek. Lakeview won the tournament with a team score of 286 while Coldwater’s score was 347, led by Nick Waterbury with an 83. Also for the Cardinals, Dreke Lutterbeck shot an 85, Scout Case had an 89, Nathan Waterbury a 90, Stephan Boston shot a 93, and Keegan Dwyer carded a 108.

On today’s high school sports schedule, in baseball, Coldwater plays at home against Leo High of Ft. Wayne, Quincy and Bronson are at the Maple Valley Wooden Bat Tournament, and Union City hosts Constantine. In softball, Coldwater is at Edwardsburg for the Eddies Invitational, Quincy is at Centreville, and Bronson is at the St. Joseph Invitational. In girl’s soccer, Coldwater has a match at Hanover-Horton while Quincy is at the Chelsea Invitational. In track, Bronson is at the Mendon Invitational. In boy’s golf, Coldwater competes in the Pennfield Invitational at the Marywood Golf Course. And in girl’s tennis, Coldwater plays in the SMAC League meet while Bronson competes in the KVA Tournament
