DETROIT (WKZO) — The Tigers held off a late charge by the Indians to win 8-6 at Comerica Park Sunday afternoon.
Reliever Angel Nesbitt gave up two runs in just a third of an inning, and closer Joakim Soria allowed a solo homer before recording the save.
Kyle Lobstein gave up three runs in seven innings to get the win.
Rajai Davis had three hits and three runs for Detroit. Miguel Cabrera finished 3-for-4 with a homer, two runs and three RBI in the rubber match. The Tigers would need them all to come away with the win and the series.
Cleveland’s Carlos Carrasco took the loss, giving up nine hits and five runs.
The Tigers now hit the road for ten days with series in Minnesota, Kansas City and Chicago.
The next game starts at 8:04 Monday night in Minnesota.
