24 fans get ready: Jack Bauer is back on the clock. That's right, leading man Kiefer Sutherland will be returning as agent Jack Bauer in a new limited series run of 24 on Fox.
Fox announced on Monday that the network has ordered a ''new tent-pole event series'' - 24: Live Another Day - which will ''restart the clock'' of the drama series. Sutherland will be reunited with showrunner Howard Gordon, and they will be maintaining the original format of split screens and interweaving story lines. There will be a total of 12 episodes ''representing 24 hours.'' The event series will capture Bauer's storyline a few years after where the series finale left off.
''The response to 24 is unlike anything I have ever experienced as an actor before,'' Sutherland said. ''To have the chance to reunite with the character, Jack Bauer, is like finding a lost friend. The story ideas from Howard Gordon are exciting and fresh, and will not disappoint... Make no mistake, my goal is to knock your socks off. See you soon.''
24's limited run will reportedly begin airing in May 2014.
