West Michigan Tea Party group says it was targeted by IRS

When the IRS singled out non-profit groups for extra scrutiny in 2010, they looked at first for key words such as 'Tea Party,' before shifting to criticisms by groups of "how the country is being run," according to findings reviewed by Reuters.

WASHINGTON D.C. (WTVB) -   The Ottawa County Patriots say they were among the Tea Party groups that received extra scrutiny from the Internal Revenue Service during the 2012 election cycle.  The scandal has resulted in two top IRS officials losing their jobs after agents admitted they singled out Tea Party-associated organizations applying for tax-exempt status.  Ottawa County Patriots president Jim Chiodo took part in a press conference yesterday in Washington, DC with Republican Congressman Bill Huizenga of Zeeland, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann of Minnesota and U.S. Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky.
