KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Kalamazoo City Commissioners aren’t really starting over with their city manager search, but they are blowing it up and keeping the parts they like, tossing out the rest and moving forward.
Among the things they decided to discard is their executive head hunting firm, Robert Murray and Associates. They plan to find another that vice Mayor Hannah McKinney says will do more than just collect applications and pass them along.'
Commissioner David Anderson says it’s also important that they don’t rush from deadline to deadline, but take their time to deliberate thoughtfully.
The Commissioners said there was no “Wow factor” with the last group of candidates, that they had no “vision” and were not inspiring, and that is apparently what they want.
