MIAMI, FL (WTVB) - The Lions are on the sidelines for Week 9 which kicked off last night and for Detroit and the 5 other teams idle with byes, it was probably tough to watch Thursday Night football and see another star player go down with a potential season ending knee injury. The Dolphins held on to beat Cincinnati 22-20 at Miami in overtime. Bengal’s All-Pro tackle Geno Atkins, one of the top defensive linemen in the league, left in the second quarter with what appeared to possibly be a torn ACL. Atkins signed a five-year, 55-million dollar contract in the offseason.
The Lions return to action a week from Sunday, taking on the Bears at Soldier Field. Chicago plays Monday night at Green Bay.
