KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- A young mother suffered life threatening injuries in front of her two young children, when she was struck by a northbound van as they tried to cross Westnedge Avenue last night.
It happened in the rain at Parkwood, right at the crest of Westnedge Hill at 9:40 p.m.
The two children aged five and one, were not injured and are being cared for by family. They were apparently returning home from trick or treating.
The woman, who’s name was not released, was rushed to Bronson Methodist for emergency treatment. She remains in critical condition.
Traffic was diverted at Maple and Inkster for some time after the incident.
