DETROIT (WKZO) -- U.S. Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky is coming to Detroit in December.
The Tea Party-backed lawmaker will be the keynote speaker at the Detroit Economic Club's December 6th meeting. Paul is expected to unveil a new legislative proposal to free the bankrupt Detroit government "and other economically blighted areas from poverty and the shackles of big government."
Last month the White House announced it would send 300-million dollars in aid to Detroit, while Senator Paul says he's working on a Republican alternative.
