WASHINGTON D.C. (WKZO) -- Michigan Senator Debbie Stabenow is at the center of the action in Washington.
Not only is she Chairman of the Senate Ag committee and participating in the Conference Committee hammering out the Farm Bill, but she is also sitting on the Budget committee, which has been tasked with resolving those differences in the wake of the Government Shut down.
She is the only member of Congress in either the House or Senate who sits at both negotiating tables.
Last month Senator Patty Murray told a gathering of Women in Washington that if they ran Congress, it wouldn’t be in the mess it’s in.
She is co-chairing the Budget committee and may get a chance to prove her theory, with Stabenow’s assistance.
