KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- The suspect in a brutal beating earlier this week in Kalamazoo has now been arrested and charged with assault with intent to murder.
Police say his victim is not out of the woods yet, and more serious charges will be pursued if he doesn’t pull through.
26-year-old Drew Stafford Thorngate has been identified, arrested and charged with the beating in the 500 block of S. Rose Street on Tuesday.
They say he left his victim in a dumpster, where he might not have been found if not for a trail of blood.
The name of the 30-year-old victim has not been released but Public Safety says he remains in critical condition at Bronson Hospital.
