LANSING (WKZO) -- The latest test results in math for Michigan students in the fourth and eighth-grades show a lower score compared to the national average. The National Assessment of Education Progress test results were released Thursday.
In fourth grade, Michigan students scored 237 while the national average score was 241. Eighth-grade students were four points behind the national average of 221.
Students are tested in five areas and officials with the Michigan Department of Education say students have continued to improve in math, while reading test scores for fourth-grade students have also increased.
