ARLINGTON TOWNSHIP (WKZO) -- A “master criminal” is facing time in prison after picking the wrong target for a burglary in Arlington Township.
We don’t know if the 24-year-old from Grand Junction knew the home belonged to a Van Buren County Deputy or whether he was picking homes at random.
The Deputy came home from work mid-afternoon Monday while the burglar was inside, and held him at gunpoint until an on-duty deputy could take him into custody.
A K-9 was able to find a 16-year-old accomplice, who was abandoning stolen items along the track, like a trail of breadcrumbs for the dog to follow.
They found stolen items on him that were from the Deputy’s home and a home near by that had been broken into earlier.
