DETROIT, MI (WTVB) - The Red Wings have a six game home winless streak they hope to break tonight when they face off against Washington at Joe Louis Arena. Detroit suffered its fourth straight defeat Tuesday in a 3-2 shootout loss at home to Winnipeg.
Yesterday, the Red Wings placed forward Patrick Eaves on waivers. The move was made in preparation to clear cap space for the return of defenseman Jonathan Ericsson, who has been out injured for nearly a month. The nine-year veteran Eaves will be sent to Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League if he clears waivers by noon today.
In the ECHL, the Kalamazoo Wings are home for 2 games this weekend, hosting the Reading Royals tonight and then taking on the Cincinnati Cyclones Saturday night at Wings Stadium.
