DETROIT, MI (WTVB) - New Detroit Tiger’s manager Brad Ausmus continues to round out his coaching staff. The team announced Monday that former longtime shortstop Omar Vizquel will become Detroit’s first base coach. He joins the Tigers from the Los Angeles Angels where he was their roving infield instructor. Also, FOX Sports is reporting that Wally Joyner has agreed to become Detroit’s hitting coach. Joyner, who had a 16-year major league career that ended in 2001, was the assistant hitting coach last season in Philadelphia.
