ANN ARBOR (WKZO) -- The first of three men who may have been involved in the murder of U. of M. Medical Student Paul DeWolf of Schoolcraft has now been formally charged.
DeWolf was a local success story, a boy who was a handsome, dedicated runner and straight-A student who pledged to become an Air Force Doctor, if they would pay his way thru Medical School in Ann Arbor.
He was found shot to death in July in his room in the basement of a frat house for medical students just off the University of Michigan campus.
Shaquille Jones, who was arrested in South Carolina, was extradited back to Michigan and was charged Thursday with home invasion and open murder.
Two other 21-year-olds, Dejeon Franklin and Joei Jordon are in custody but have not yet been charged.
Investigators have released no information on what led them to the three men during the investigation into DeWolf’s violent death.
