MILFORD (WKZO) -- It doesn’t hurt to ask. Congressman Kerry Bentivolio of Milford has sent a letter to Boeing CEO W. James McNerney, Jr. asking him to move some of its operations to Michigan.
The airliner manufacturer is currently having union problems in Washington State and has suggested it may look elsewhere to build the 777x.
In the letter, Bentivolio says, quote, "Michigan may not have the coffee Seattle does, but what we do have is highly skilled, hardworking people with a rich history in manufacturing."
He also added that Michigan is now a “Right to Work” state.
Boeing is currently headquartered in Chicago.
The letter goes on to say that Michigan put the 20th century on the road and would love the opportunity to put the 21st century in the air.
