BARRY COUNTY (WKZO) -- State Police have taken down a high risk meth lab in Hastings.
High risk because it was in a downstairs unit at Hastings Apartments, where three children lived, in the same unit, and dozens more were put at risk in neighboring apartments.
It’s not unusual for a meth lab, besides oozing and emitting toxic fumes, to occasionally blow up, generating a fire ball.
Troopers filled a barrel and haz-mat containers with the ingredients and equipment used to make meth. They say they found no active labs. .
The children were taken by Child Protective Services for tests to see if exposure to the meth making process has had any effect.
Two men were arrested, but their names were not released.
