LANSING (WKZO) -- Sex offenders on the Michigan Registry will have 15 days to verify their address with local law enforcement agencies starting Tuesday.
Tier 3 sex offenders have to report any change in their address quarterly. State Police officials say those who fail to update their information could face up to two years in jail.
In addition to an address change, all sex offenders in the state must report a change in their name, employment, campus enrollment, Internet IDs and vehicle information within three days of the change. Failure to comply with that portion of the law is punishable by a four-year jail term.
