STURGIS, MI (WTVB) - Authorities say they have a prime suspect in the shooting death of a prominent Sturgis accountant, but detectives apparently can’t prove it yet. They have charged 36-year-old Andy Brown with embezzling over $100,000 from David Locey and his firm. Locey was found dead in his office from a single gunshot wound to the head early Wednesday morning. Forensic crews were back at the office yesterday, and divers were searching a local river for the murder weapon.
Sturgis Police are asking for anyone who may have seen anything suspicious between 5 am and 8 am Wednesday near the accounting office to give them a call. In the meantime, Brown isn’t going anywhere. Bond was set at a one million dollars.
