KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- An armed stand-off with the operators of a large meth manufacturing operation in the 500 block of Egleston has ended without gunplay.
It began at 4:30 p.m. Saturday when Public Safety, acting on a tip tried to make contact with the occupants at the address in the Edison neighborhood.
One of them jumped out a window and was arrested on outstanding warrants. Two others barricaded themselves inside.
The Metro SWAT team was called in after it was determined the two had guns. A negotiator with the SWAT team was able to talk one of the suspects out of the home. They other was persuaded to leave after a chemical irritant was introduced to the home.
A large and complex Methamphetamine Lab was discovered in the home. They also found a shot gun. It took several hours to dismantle the lab.
The two are also being held on outstanding warrants pending tests and the issuance of warrants for new drug and gun violations.
