Meanwhile, a wild three-car crash on the final lap of the Grand Prix of Houston yesterday injured more than a dozen fans. Dario Franchitti’s car went airborne and into the catch fence, sending debris flying into the stands. According to the Houston Fire Department, at least 13 people were injured and two were transported to the hospital. Franchitti suffered a spinal fracture, a fractured right ankle and a concussion. The crash came just 10 days shy of the two-year anniversary of the wreck that killed IndyCar driver Dan Wheldon.
