COMERICA PARK, MI (WHTC) -- It was a long afternoon for the Tigers, as they saw their playoff chances dwindling, losing to Oakland today by a score of 6-3. Anibal Sanchez, the AL's ERA leader, allowing just 0.45 homers per nine innings during the season, but gave up all three of Oakland's homers in his 4 1/3 frames of work, giving the A's a 3-0 lead. In the bottom of the fourth, the Tigers bats came alive, with Jhonny Peralta's two-run single highlighting Detroit's three-run fourth, only to have the A's surge back with a three run fifth inning, bringing the score to 6-3. Game 4 is scheduled for 5 P.M. Tuesday, with game coverage getting underway at 4:40 P.M on 1450 WHTC. That start time is subject to change depending on the outcome between Tampa Bay and The Red Sox. If Tampa Bay loses today, they'll be out of the playoffs and the Tigers-A's game would be moved to an 8 P.M. start.
