GREEN BAY, WI (WTVB) - The Lions road losing streak against the Packers is now 22 games after Green Bay defeated Detroit 22-9 yesterday at Lambeau Field. The Lion’s offense was crippled with their All-Pro receiver Calvin Johnson on the sidelines in street clothes because of a knee injury. Detroit trailed only 6-3 at halftime but Green Bay pulled away with 10 points in the third quarter, including their only touchdown on an 83-yard pass play. The Lions found the end zone with just over 2 minutes to go on a 13-yard touchdown pass from Matthew Stafford to Kris Durham. Detroit receivers dropped 5 passes and Stafford was sacked 5 times. The Lions slip to 3-and-2 but remain tied for first place in the NFC North with the Bears, who lost 26-18 to the Saints at Soldier Field. Green Bay improved to 2-and-2. Detroit is on the road again this week, playing Sunday at Cleveland.
Five weeks into the season, 3 teams, New Orleans, Denver, and Kansas City, remain undefeated, each 5-and-0. Denver and the Dallas Cowboys had a real shootout yesterday in Dallas with the Broncos pulling out a 51-48 victory. Last night, San Francisco routed Houston 34-3 while Oakland stopped San Diego 27-17. In Monday Night football, it’s the New York Jets at Atlanta.
