BLOOMINGDALE (WKZO) -- After an intense two day manhunt in Van Buren County, a parole absconder from Allegan County has been taken into custody, after he was found hiding in a pole barn outside of Bloomingdale.
Officials checking up on Michael Warner on Wednesday found he had cut off his tether. He escaped despite being shot with a taser, and out ran police in a high speed chase to Bloomindale, where he abandoned his car.
During the manhunt officials locked down both Bloomingdale and Gobles schools. Warner allegedly broke into one home, and tried and failed to steal two long- guns and an ATV from a second home.
A homeowner on 41st St. spotted a cigarette carton on the floor of a pole barn, which didn’t belong there and called police.
Deputies sent in a K-9 who sniffed him out, and Warner, bruised and exhausted was taken into custody last evening.
He was treated and released at an area hospital, and will now face multiple charges in both Allegan and Van Buren Counties.
