LANSING (WKZO) -- Michigan democrats have introduced the Tax-o-Meter as we near the next election cycle.
It includes a running tab on the amount of taxes that they claim the Republican Governor and legislature have shifted away from business and onto state workers and retirees. It also includes a cartoon that tells the story of the tax shift.
Democratic House leader Tim Griemel says it’s approaching 2-billion dollars in the last year and a half.
He says the only folks getting tax breaks these days are corporations and businesses.
Ari Adler, the spokesman for speaker Jace Bolger calls it a gimmick.
Grimel says it’s just like the Debt Clock republicans have used for years to keep track of the deficit.
