DETROIT, MI (WKZO) -- It's not the end of the line, but the Tigers are cutting it close. Game 5 of the American League Championship Series saw Detroit fall 4-3 to the Red Sox after almost 5 scoreless innings.
Miguel Cabrera and Co. had nothing as impressive as Boston first baseman Mike Napoli's heroic home run in the second--it was singles all the way. And, Anibal Sanchez had a strong start, but never fully recovered from Napoli's homer, allowing him to score off a wild pitch an inning later.
Detroit needs at least two wins now to reach the World Series, and they send Max Scherzer to the mound for Game 6, on Saturday. First pitch is at 4:30 PM on 590 AM WKZO.
