PAW PAW TOWNSHIP (WKZO) -- A teenager  who robbed one place too many, is sitting in the Van Buren County jail awaiting his first court hearings.

Deputies were called to a home in the 38-thousand block of 64th Avenue where the owner of the home was holding a shotgun on the teen burglar in his pole barn.

Deputies found the key to a jeep in his possession, and found the Jeep stuck in a ditch up the road at 39th and 64th.

It had been stolen.

When they tracked down the owner, they found that another vehicle on that property and another one next door had also been entered and items stolen.

Deputies say the suspect unsuccessfully tried to enter the home of the last victims, waking them and was then seen forcing his way into their pole barn instead. That was where he was confronted by the shotgun wielding homeowner who held him at bay until he could be turned over to deputies.

They determined the 18-year-old suspect was drunk.

He is charged with 3 counts of larceny from a motor vehicle, unlawful driving away of a motor vehicle, and alcohol consumption by a minor.
