LANSING (WKZO) -- Michigan Governor Rick Snyder has asked a Wayne County Judge to block the release of internal emails and documents regarding the search for Detroit’s emergency manager.
On Friday, Attorney General Bill Schuette filed an emergency motion on the governor’s behalf in a lawsuit brought forth by union activist Robert Davis. In the suit, Davis seeks documents from the state Treasury Department pertaining to the emergency manager search process.
Schuette wrote in the filing that Snyder seeks to become a defendant in the case to protect the other candidates for the emergency manager position from being unnecessarily burdened or harassed. A judge has scheduled a hearing Tuesday to consider the motion.
