KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- The Kalamazoo City Commission is expected to approve their contract with new City Manager James Ritsema this evening.
The pact calls for a base salary of 137-thousand dollars with the option for raises and additional compensation based on annual performance evaluations.
He will also get the use of a city car, and access to the city’s healthcare and retirement programs.
It also includes boilerplate language spelling out that he serves at the pleasure of the Commission and details the behaviors and actions that could lead to his termination.
Ritsema is currently Assistant Manager in Battle Creek.
