DETROIT, MI (WTVB) - The Red Wings were routed last night by the Senators with Ottawa embarrassing Detroit 6-1 at Joe Louis Arena. Jimmy Howard was pulled after giving up three goals on eight shots in less than one period. Jonas Gustavsson finished the night with 17 saves on 20 chances. Craig Anderson made 31 saves in the win for the Senators with Detroit’s lone goal coming from Todd Bertuzzi as the Red Wings stumbled to their third straight setback and worst loss of the young season.

Detroit defenseman Niklas Kronwall returned to the lineup after being a game-time decision following a facial injury suffered in practice when a puck struck him. The Red Wing have the next couple of days off before hosting the New York Rangers Saturday night
