KALAMAZOO (WKZO)-- Kalamazoo Public Safety is reporting an exceptionally violent muggingon the city’s south side just after 7:00 last evening.
A man walking up to a home in the 33-hundred block of Konkle St. just south of Cork Street was tackled by two black males who fired a gunshot, and demanded money. When he refused, they kicked and punched him, eventually shooting him in the right hand and left arm.
The two assailants fled when an acquaintance of the victim drove his vehicle straight at the suspects, forcing them to retreat to a white sedan.
They were last seen speeding from the area.
By the time officers responded to reports of shots fired, the 26-yer-old victim and his rescuer were on their way to Bronson Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery to treat the wounds.
The two suspects were described as thin black males with dark complexions wearing hoodies.
