LANSING (WKZO) -- Are you working harder and earning less this Labor Day? Judy Putnam at the Michigan League for Public Policy says their recent analysis of the numbers over the last 30-years, adjusted for inflation suggests that the poor are getting poorer and the rich are getting richer.
While their report is unrelated to the recent protests by fast food workers, it supports their complaints.
She says its eliminating the middle class in America. But putnam says they support a lower increase in the Minimum wage than the protestors do.
They think a raise to $10 an hour is more politically feasible.
She says they would also like to see higher education made more accessible to lower income students and families.
