CHARLOTTE, NC (WTVB) - NASCAR driver Tony Stewart spoke to the media for the first time Tuesday since breaking his leg in a sprint car race at Southern Iowa Speedway in late July. Stewart admitted to being fatigued from a pace of nearly 100 races during the season. He added that he still plans to race sprint cars in addition to NASCAR, but will cut back on the number of races he runs. The three-time Sprint Cup champion needed two surgeries to repair his leg and will miss the rest of the NASCAR season. He’s expected to return to action in time for the 2014 Daytona 500.
Next up on the NASCAR Sprint Cup schedule is this weekend’s Federated Auto Parts 400 at Richmond International Raceway with our live coverage on AM 1590 and FM 95.5 beginning at 6:30 pm Saturday night.
