BATTLE CREEK (WKZO) -- Around 2:40 a.m. Wednesday, Battle Creek Police officers responded to a call about a hit-and-run traffic collision on Jackson Street near 20th Street. Two motorcycles were traveling through the intersection, and one was hit by a vehicle turning left into the path of the oncoming bike.
Twenty-one-year-old Christopher Miranda of Battle Creek was struck by the passenger side of the vehicle and severely injured. He survived, but is still undergoing treatment for his extensive injuries.
The suspect vehicle is described as a dark-colored, medium-sized sedan, possibly a Chrysler, that should have significant damage to its passenger side. The driver reportedly stopped momentarily before fleeing the scene.
Battle Creek Police are seeking tips from the public in locating the vehicle and its driver.
