KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- They held the Kickoff Luncheon for the Home season at Waldo Stadium Thursday, and head coach P.J. Fleck says the games are going to be a lot more entertaining this year, with a live D.J. and other features that Fleck hopes will become traditions.
Athletic Director Kathy Beauregard says because of the new financial realities in higher education and with just 5-home games this year, its important that they fill the seats in Waldo Stadium.
She says they rely on the money raised by the bigger sports to fund the smaller ones.
They are calling football “the thing to do in Kalamazoo”, and it’s what “Rowing the Boat” is all about, everyone pulling in the same direction.
She says they have done it with the hockey program and she is sure they can do it with football.
