BATTLE CREEK (WKZO) -- A man who was being sought for a murder in 2011 in Battle Creek was arrested over the weekend in Indianapolis.
33-year-old Shawn Thomas McKnight is being held in the Marion County Jail pending extradition hearings that would bring him back to Calhoun County to face murder charges.
A warrant was issued Thursday, two years to the day after the killing. Battle Creek and State Police tracked him to an address in Indianapolis and with the help of the U.S. Marshals Service, he was taken into custody on Saturday.
Police believe he is responsible for shooting 27-year-old Terrence Ware in the chest, killing him, and wounding another man during a Labor Day party near Bowen and Howland in Battle Creek.
Police say the two had been feuding.
