KALAMAZOO, MI (WTVB) -While most universities in the state showed little or no change in the latest U.S. News & World Report's ranking, Western Michigan University was the exception. WMU moved up eight spots to the 181st ranking of the best colleges in the country.
University of Michigan ranked 28th overall and fourth among the nation's public universities. Michigan Sate University dropped one spot to 73rd overall and is ranked the 29th best public university.
At the top of the heap is Princeton followed by Harvard, Yale, Columbia and Stanford.
