NEW YORK (WKZO) -- It looks like Derek Jeter is done for the season, and it may be just as well.

The Kalamazoo Kid says he never properly recovered from the ankle injury he suffered in the ALCS against the Tigers last fall and that’s kept him from doing proper strength training.

Yankees Manager Joe Girardi says Jeter is being put on the disabled list, but he expects Jeter to do whatever he has to, to get back.

Jeter confirms he will be back next year.

The Captain played in just 17-games this season, batting .190 with 1 homer and 7 RBI’s.
