KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Kalamazoo enjoyed a downsized and simplified County Fair this summer but it achieved the goals set for it after a shake up of the Fair Board and the appointment of new management last year.
Parks Director David Rachowicz says they wanted a safe fair so they ended it at 9 p.m. each night. They also wanted a self-sufficient operation and this year it will end up about 30-thousand dollars in the black.
Fair manager Roxanne Bruce says the long term goal is to keep building and re-growing the event, around the core 4-H programs and showcases.
They have already begun planning next year’s event.
