MACKINAC ISLAND (WKZO) -- Governor Rick Snyder didn’t announce he will be running for another term at this weekend’s Republican Leadership Conference on Mackinac Island, but he made it very clear that is his intention.
He even introduced what may be his slogan in an opening film, replacing “One Tough Nerd” with “One Successful Nerd”.
He has begun taking credit for creating over 290-thousand private sector jobs.
Democratiic Gubernatorial candidate Mark Schauer says that almost all those new jobs are auto related or spin-off jobs that were the result of the Chrysler and GM bailouts, and the resurgence of the Auto industry which has also helped Ford. .
Meanwhile Tea Party officials say they are looking for options to try to unseat Snyder.
They consider him to be a Republican in Name Only because of his support of higher taxes for roads, Medicaid Expansion, the tax hike on seniors, support of a second span over the Detroit River and his position on social issues.
Randy Bishop of Patriot Voices Radio says they are considering three possible candidates.
