DETROIT (WKZO) -- The Tigers’ final home series ended in disappointment today as Detroit lost the final game to the White Sox 6-3. They still took the series 2-1, but they did not clinch the AL Central title. The magic number is now two, with six away games remaining.
For one thing, the team was working without Miguel Cabrera, who was out with groin pain. Prince Fielder still did his part and drove in a homer in the 4th, but Chicago starter Erik Johnson kept the team from driving in any big runs.
The game also gave Anibal Sanchez his first loss since July, as he allowed four runs and eight hits in five innings.
Game one at the Twins is on AM 590 tomorrow night at 7:45 PM.
