LOS ANGELES - The Tigers tonight play their first road game of the year, opening a 2-game interleague series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Detroit began the season with a 4-1 home stand which ended with Sunday’s 3-1 loss to the Orioles. Max Scherzer gets the start tonight for the Tigers, who made some unwelcome off the field news Monday. Detroit police are investigating a possible sexual assault involving Tigers reliever Evan Reed. The Detroit News reports that an alleged incident between Reed and a woman occurred March 30th at the Motor City Casino. The accuser tells police she met Reed at a bar but didn't remember anything until waking up in a hotel room. She then went to police two days after the alleged incident. The 28-year-old Reed joined the Tigers last year after being claimed off waivers from the Marlins.
The White Sox lost 8-1 last night at Colorado in the opener of a 3-game series with the Rockies. The Cubs sere idle Monday. They host Pittsburgh tonight at Wrigley Field.
