Tigers' offense gets shut down again, lose to Cleveland 3-2 Wednesday night

DETROIT, MI (WTVB) -The Tigers offense continues to sputter as they fell to the Cleveland Indians 3-2 last night at Comerica Park. Detroit starter Anibal Sanchez was tagged with the loss, giving up three runs, two earned, on two hits while striking out eight and walking four. Miguel Cabrera was responsible for both of Detroit's runs with rbi’s on a single and a groundout. The Tigers outhit the Tribe 9-5 but they batted just 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position and their record dips to 6-5 after the 4-0 start.

Justin Verlander takes the mound for Detroit in this afternoon's series finale. The White Sox lost 6-4 to the Red Sox last night in 14 innings in Chicago while in the afternoon, the Cubs were blanked by the Yankees 3-0 in New York.
