ALLEN PARK, MI (WTVB) - The Detroit Lions begin a voluntary, three day mini-camp today. Yesterday, Detroit signed cornerbacks Aaron Hester and Nate Ness. The 24-year-old Hester was signed as an undrafted rookie free agent by the Denver Broncos last year, but was cut from the roster before the regular season.
Ness was an undrafted free agent in 2009 when he was signed by the New York Jets practice squad and has spent time with the Miami Dolphins and Seattle Seahawks. He last played in the NFL with the St. Louis Rams in 2011.
Next week, the Lions begin phase two of the offseason training program.
