KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Voters in Kalamazoo County are guaranteed at least one competitive race per ballot. Many will get more than one because of contested County Board races.
Voters in Portage and the eastern rural township will pick between Republican state house candidates Brandt Iden and Phil Stinchcomb.
Kalamazoo voters have a three-way race between Democrats Dave Buskirk, Jon Hoadley and Pamela Brown Goodacre, running to replace Sean McCann.
Dave Maturen of Kalamazoo County and Vic Potter of Marshall are vying in an inter-county race for the seat now held by the term-limited Jase Bolger.
And in the newly drawn first district of Kalamazoo County, there is a five-way race on the Democratic side for the single spot on the November ballot.
Most of the candidates who win these races will be odds on favorites to win the general election in November, because of the make up of the districts.
