LOUISVILLE, KY (WTVB) - Tiger Woods' status for this week's PGA Championship remains in doubt after he withdrew Sunday midway through his final round at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational. There were no updates yesterday on Woods’ condition after he injured his back on a swing from an odd stance on the edge of a bunker on the second hole. He tried to play through the pain before calling it quits following a tee shot on nine. He missed several months earlier this year after undergoing back surgery.
Woods has postponed a press conference scheduled for this morning and agent Mark Steinberg says a decision may not come until Wednesday. The PGA Championship, the year’s final major, tees off Thursday in Louisville, Kentucky.
