PAW PAW TOWNSHIP (WKZO) -- A professional truck driver who was beyond super-drunk and trying to steer his rig down I-94 Saturday night, spent a good portion of his weekend drying out in the Van Buren County Jail.
He wasn’t doing a very good job of staying between the lines and Van Buren County Deputies were getting complaints from other drivers about a semi weaving back and fourth.
Deputies got the 28-year-old from Brampton, Ontario to pull over in Paw Paw Township.
The truck driver refused a breathalyzer. A blood test showed he had a blood alcohol count that was 4-1/2 times the legal limit.
They found open bottles in the truck, and a full load in his trailer. They didn’t disclose what he was hauling.
He is charged with Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol, Open Intoxicants in a Motor Vehicle and refusing a PBT, which is a misdemeanor Offense for Commercial motor vehicle operators.
